Alexander Malofeev

Alexander Malofeev, a young Russian pianist, gained international acclaim after winning the International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians at age 13 in 2014. Critics have praised his technical accuracy, maturity, and exceptional ability, with some hailing him as a “world piano revolution.” His 2023–2024 season included performances with prestigious orchestras and at renowned venues worldwide, including Carnegie Hall and the Amsterdam Concertgebouw. Maestro Riccardo Chailly has commended Malofeev’s depth, technical abilities, and musical interpretation, particularly of Rachmaninov’s challenging 3rd Concerto.
In his Performance Santa Fe concert, he will perform pieces by Schubert, Chopin, Rachmaninoff, and Scriabin.
Kristin Chenoweth

Kristin Chenoweth is an Emmy® and Tony® Award-winning actress and singer with a diverse film, television, voice-over, and stage career. She has received numerous accolades, including a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Recognized for her roles in Pushing Daisies, You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown, and Wicked, Chenoweth has also garnered multiple nominations and awards for her performances in Glee and On the Twentieth Century. Her upcoming projects include starring in and producing a musical based on The Queen of Versailles documentary, collaborating with Wicked composer Stephen Schwartz. She currently stars in the second season of Apple TV+’s Schmigadoon! for which she received a Critics’ Choice Award nomination for her role in the first season.
Contemporary West Dance Theatre

Contemporary West Dance Theatre (CWDT), founded in 2007 by Bernard H. Gaddis and Charmaine Hunter, is Las Vegas’s premier contemporary modern dance company. CWDT is one of Nevada’s top arts organizations known for integrating classical and modern dance with athleticism. The company’s repertoire includes more than 60 ballets featuring works by renowned and emerging choreographers combining spiritual elegance and grace. CWDT offers local arts education outreach and touring opportunities for dancers and is working towards becoming an accredited dance conservatory. Their passionate, skilled dancers have inspired audiences worldwide for over a decade with virtuoso performances.

This successful vocal group, known for their harmonious blend of country, rock, and pop music, have 10 number 1 hits, over 18 million album units sold, and nearly 5 billion digital streams. Their most famous song, “Need You Now,” is 11X Platinum and the highest certified song by a Country group. Lady A has won numerous awards, including seven Grammys and three consecutive ACM and CMA “Vocal Group of the Year” titles, cementing their status as one of the 21st century’s premier vocal groups in the country music scene. July 2024
In July 2024, the first of Performance Santa Fe’s Festival of Song three-show series featured two of the biggest stars in opera today. Mezzo-soprano Jennifer Johnson Cano, a regular at the Metropolitan Opera and the Santa Fe Opera, wowed audiences with her performance. In the same series, Anthony Roth Costanzo, a Grammy-winning countertenor who has had sold-out runs at the Metropolitan Opera and other prestigious concert halls, captivated the audience with an outstanding performance. He and Jennifer also performed duets, and pianist Robert Tweten, the head of the music staff at the Santa Fe Opera, accompanied both opera stars.
August 2024
The second show in Performance Santa Fe’s Festival of Song three-show series featured two rising operatic stars: Irish mezzo-soprano Paula Murrihy and Chinese bass William Guanbo Su. Pianist Robert Tweten also accompanied them. Paula Murrihy’s voice delivers emotional depth and range. Frequently performing at renowned opera houses throughout Europe and the U.S., Murrihy delivers a captivating presence that leaves a lasting impact. Her extensive repertoire covers a wide span of musical history, featuring well-loved pieces by composers such as Brahms and Grieg and modern works that challenge and expand the genre’s traditional limits.
Joining Paula Murrihy on stage was bass William Guanbo Su, whose commanding tone and notable stage presence have rapidly earned him acclaim. A Grand Finals winner of the 2019 Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition, Su has performed at prestigious venues such as the Houston Grand Opera and the Aspen Music Festival. Whether portraying the lively Basilio in Il barbiere di Siviglia or the authoritative Speaker in The Magic Flute, Su showcases his impressive vocal range and ability to handle diverse operatic roles.
A second August performance featured operatic stars Liv Redpath and David Portillo, who Robert Tweten accompanied on the piano. Liv Redpath has received international praise for her radiant voice and remarkable coloratura, with standout performances at prestigious venues like the Royal Opera House, Staatsoper Hamburg, and The Metropolitan Opera. Known for her versatility, she earned rave reviews for her roles in Un ballo in maschera and The Magic Flute.
Joining Redpath was tenor David Portillo, known for his warm, rich tone and effortless high notes. With performances at top opera houses such as The Metropolitan Opera and Bayerische Staatsoper, Portillo has earned acclaim for his roles in The Magic Flute, Così fan tutte, and Don Giovanni.
