All Things Real Estate: First Hour - August 26, 2018
This weekly radio show features host and Sotheby's International Realty's Associate Broker Rey Post (NM REC License #45660) and a variety of special guests offering the best news, information and commentary regarding every aspect of today's real estate market.
In the first hour of the show, join Rey and his guest co-host, Bonnie Davis, Professional Community Association Manager of Westgate Properties, LLC, and their guests, as they mark a major event in the U.S. that had a lasting impact on the rights enjoyed by women in our nation.
Exactly 98 years ago this Sunday (August 26, 1920), the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was certified by our Federal government, which achieved the long-sought right to vote for women in our nation. Also, on August 16, 1973, Congress approved H.J. Res. 52, which stated that August 26 would be designated as Women's Equality Day and that "the President is authorized and requested to issue a proclamation in commemoration of that day in 1920, on which the women in America were first guaranteed the right to vote."
Applying the importance of these historic occasions to the theme for the first hour of the show, Rey, Bonnie and their guests will discuss the major role that women play in all aspects of real estate.
Real Estate Brokers and Their Clients: Rey will share some observations on the successes that women, who work as professional real estate brokers, have enjoyed in the process of assisting home buyers and sellers. Rey will also offer his weekly “Rey’s Real Estate Recommendation,” which is designed to make the home buying and selling process a bit easier and more enjoyable for consumers. In addition, Rey will remind the audience that the Sotheby's International Realty® brand has partnered with New Story, a non-profit organization that puts 100 percent of donations toward transforming dangerous living environments into communities of safe, sustainable homes, for $6,000 a home. Go to https://www.sothebysrealty.com/eng/newstory for more information on this significant initiative.
Community Association Management Update: Bonnie will offer her thoughts on the theme of the show, including how she, as professional community association manager, brings value to the residents of homeowner (HOA) and condo (COA) association neighborhoods. Bonnie will also update the audience on current issues that residents within HOA and COA communities are facing at this point in 2018. In addition, Bonnie will review the elements of the second hour of the show when she and her guests will address mortgage lending in community associations. Based in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Westgate Properties specializes in the management of multi-tenant commercial properties and homeowner associations. Their goal is to promote community through highly responsive management with the aim that quality of life, quality of work and the value of one’s real estate investment is improved.
Open House of the Week: Rey will review the attributes of 246 Camino Tres Arroyos, with his Sotheby’s International Realty broker colleague Diane Harrison, who is staging an open house at the property for listing broker Darlene Streit. This three-bedroom, classic Pueblo-style home sits on more than an acre of land, offers incredible country living and privacy, but is just four miles from Santa Fe's Plaza. A highlight of this home is the Loretto-inspired spiral staircase to the second-floor master bedroom, while natural light brightens every room through windows that offer expansive views of the Sangre de Cristo, Jemez, and Sandia mountains. This home is a lovely retreat that offers charm, exquisite craftsmanship and stunning views in a wonderful setting.
In the second hour of the show, join host Bonnie Davis of Westgate Properties, LLC, and her special guests, as they feature a discussion on mortgage lending in community associations. Bonnie’s special guests will include Dulce Avitia, Mortgage Expert at Gateway Mortgage Group, LLC, who will speak to the second hour theme. Gateway’s Branch Manager, Scott Robinson, is a regular content contributor on the “All Things Real Estate” radio show, bringing mortgage commentary to the program each month.
In addition, Bonnie’s regular content providers will join in the conversation:
Insurance Advice: Vincent Marciano of the ADV Insurance Agency—specializing in community association insurance needs—joins Bonnie to discuss the theme of the Sunday show, as well as offer his monthly insurance counsel on other matters of interest to home owners.
Landscape Tip: Sean Gabriel, Principal with locally-owned and operated Proscape Landscape Management, will offer his landscape tip of the month and also speak to the theme of the second hour of the program.
