All Things Real Estate: First Hour - December 3, 2017

All Things Real Estate - December 3, 2017

This weekly radio show features host and Sotheby's International Realty's Associate Broker Rey Post (NM REC License #45660) and a variety of special guests offering the best news, information and commentary regarding every aspect of today's real estate market.
In the first hour of the show, join Rey and his guests as they mark the 50th anniversary of the first successful heart transplant operation by using the occasion to speak to why all parties need to “have some heart” when participating in any real estate transaction.

Real Estate Brokers Bring Some Heart: Rey will speak to how he and his broker colleagues understand the value of bringing not only professional expertise, but a degree of “having heart,” as they work with home buyers and sellers, as well as other specialists in all real estate transactions. Rey will also remind the audience of the important role that the real estate community is playing in the aftermath of Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria. As an example of the real estate community’s commitment to providing assistance, the Realogy Charitable Foundation, a 501 © (3) public charity, was established as Hurricane Harvey approached Texas in late August. The foundation is continuing to raise funds, delivering 100 percent of the proceeds to the American Red Cross to directly help those affected by the storm (go to: to contribute). Realogy is the parent company of Sotheby’s International Realty, Inc.
Gateway Mortgage Group “Home Buyer Tip”: Scott Robinson, Santa Fe Branch Manager at the Gateway Mortgage Group, will offer his own thoughts on the theme of Sunday’s show, including the level of “heart and understanding” that his team of fellow professionals bring to all home-buying transactions. Scott will also provide his regular mortgage tip that can benefit home buyers who are purchasing a property in collaboration with a lender. The Gateway Mortgage Group is one of the largest privately held mortgage companies in the country, doing its entire mortgage servicing in-house. This business element is important, since it means that Gateway’s customers work directly with them until the time their loan is paid. Commentary contained within this broadcast is for informational purposes only and should not be considered a solicitation to extend credit. Scott Robinson, NMLS 202265, is a licensed Branch Manager with Gateway Mortgage Group, located at 502 West Cordova Road, Suite 1, Santa Fe, New Mexico 87505. All loans are subject to program guidelines and final underwriting approval. Gateway Mortgage Group, LLC is an equal housing lender. NMLS 7233.
2017 Roofing and Home Maintenance Update: John Grisak, President, and Justin Kibbe, Vice President, of Fix My Roof, LLC, will provide some observations on the show theme. They will also speak in detail to the element of roof restoration that is “at the heart” of the services offered by Fix My Roof, LLC, to its clients in New Mexico. Fix My Roof, LLC, is committed to restoring existing roofs for a fraction of the cost of roof replacement while maximizing a positive impact on the environment by embracing environmentally responsible practices and educating the greater community about environmental stewardship. Headquartered in Santa Fe, the company has completed both residential and commercial jobs in Santa Fe, Los Alamos, El Dorado, Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Cochiti, Las Cruces, Alamogordo, Silver City, and many more locations.
Rey Collaborates With Broker Martin Molz: Playing to the theme of the show, Rey welcomes Engel & Volkers Taos associate broker Martin Molz for a discussion of how their collaboration underscores the element of “having heart” in the real estate trade. As friends, Martin and Rey entered into a listing agreement on a personal land holding owned by Martin, which is located near Abiquiu, New Mexico. Information on this spectacular 10-acre parcel offering 365-degree vistas (Lot 23 Pedernal Drive in Medanales, NM) can be found under the “Unique Destination” section at Besides speaking to the “heart”-related theme of the show, Martin will also offer information on the real estate activities of his Taos brokerage, as well as the market conditions of this part of the state. Martin will also share information on his use of good communications, alternative marketing and pragmatic approaches, which he employs in his practice of real estate.
Open House of the Week: Rey will review the attributes of 84 Calle Galisteo with his Sotheby’s International Realty broker colleague Lois Sury. This three-bedroom, stately Northern New Mexico home is sited on 19-plus acres of land and features inviting and dramatic spaces with soaring ceilings and is located south of downtown Santa Fe.

In the second hour of the show, Jeff Brown, Owner of WIN Home Inspection, and his guests will offer their monthly broadcast, speaking to a variety of home inspection and maintenance issues, as well as the state of the local real estate market. Joining Jeff is Loralana "Alana" Light of A La Carte Design, who has been decorating, staging and organizing homes for the past 20 years. Also joining Jeff are Clean Sweep, LLC, co-owners Paul DeDomenico and Steve Burke, who will review the range of environmental solution services their company offers, with a special emphasis on the issue of mold found in a home. Offering his monthly “Home Inspector’s Tip,” is Matt Rivera, a professional home inspector and a member of the WIN Home Inspection team. WIN is well known for providing comprehensive, experienced, and professional home inspections, with the goal of helping to make the real estate transaction process go smoothly. Buyers can make an informed decision on the home they are purchasing, as well as planning for upgrades down the road, while sellers who obtain a pre-inspection can often see their listing sell more quickly.
