This Sunday—February 23—marks the 93rd anniversary of the Radio Act of 1927 being signed into law. According to the Library of Congress, the new law was considered the real start of broadcast radio. The Act gave control to the Federal government for regulating the "new" technology, issuing broadcast licenses, and assigning frequencies.

In the first hour of the show, Rey and his guest co-host—Bonnie Davis, Professional Community Association Manager with the homeowner association management company, Westgate Properties, LLC—will reflect on this “birthday” of radio broadcasting, and how the ATRE program serves as a vehicle for delivering news and information to home owners, buyers and sellers, as well as real estate professionals, and the general public.

Real Estate Broker Observations: Besides speaking to the theme of the show, Rey will also offer some thoughts on the focus of real estate brokers, as they work with home buyers and sellers in February 2020.

Community Association Management Update: Bonnie will reflect on the show theme, and also offer observations on the ways—in early 2020—that Westgate Properties, LLC, is assisting the residents of the more than 60 homeowner (HOA) and condo (COA) association communities that the company manages in Northern New Mexico. Bonnie will also review the elements of the second hour of the show that she hosts. Based in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Westgate Properties, LLC, specializes in the management of multi-tenant commercial properties and homeowner associations. Their goal is to promote community through highly responsive management with the aim that quality of life, quality of work and the value of one’s real estate investment is improved. Bonnie, her colleague Tom Simon—the owner of Westgate Properties, LLC—and their regular second-hour guest commentators have returned to the ATRE radio show in 2020, to offer valuable real estate input on the last Sunday of each month.

Broadcast Assistant Uses ATRE as Learning Experience: Samme Newcomer, a Durango, Colorado, high school student, is serving as Rey's Broadcast Assistant for this show. Coincidental to the anniversary this Sunday of the Radio Act of 1927 becoming law, Samme is using the ATRE broadcast experience as a way to learn new skills that could be valuable to her, as she pursues her academic studies and prepares for her future career.

Rey’s “Real Estate Recommendation”: Rey’s weekly real estate recommendation will offer some suggestions on how to make the home buying and selling process a bit easier, more efficient and less time consuming for consumers. An ongoing recommendation that Rey offers is to see his listing of a 10-acre parcel of land, just nine miles east of Abiquiu, and situated above the Rio Chama, with 360-degree vistas (for information, see the "Unique Destination" section on
