All Things Real Estate: First Hour - November 19, 2017

All Things Real Estate - November 19, 2017

This weekly radio show features host and Sotheby's International Realty's Associate Broker Rey Post (NM REC License #45660) and a variety of special guests offering the best news, information and commentary regarding every aspect of today's real estate market.
In the first hour of the show, join Rey and his guests as they mark the 154th anniversary of the delivery in 1863 of the Gettysburg Address by Abraham Lincoln. His carefully crafted address—beginning with the iconic phrase of “Four score and seven years ago”—was one of the greatest and most influential statements of national purpose. The address reiterated the principles of human equality espoused in the Declaration of Independence, while extolling the virtues of ensuring the survival of America’s representative democracy.
Rey and his guests are using the occasion to underscore why we as Santa Feans—as well as other Americans—are lucky to call our respective cities, states and the nation "home.”

Real Estate in Santa Fe: Rey will offer some thoughts on the advantages of owning real estate in Santa Fe, as well as the virtues of our city, its people and lifestyle. Rey will also remind the audience of the important role that the real estate community is playing in the aftermath of the hurricanes that have impacted our nation this summer and early fall. As an example of the real estate community’s commitment to providing assistance, the Realogy Charitable Foundation, a 501 © (3) public charity, was established as Hurricane Harvey approached Texas in late August. The foundation is continuing to raise funds, delivering 100 percent of the proceeds to the American Red Cross to directly help those affected by the storm (go to: events.org/hurricane to contribute). Realogy is the parent company of Sotheby’s International Realty, Inc.
Gateway Mortgage Group “Home Buyer Tip”: Scott Robinson (NMLS#202265), Santa Fe Branch Manager at the Gateway Mortgage Group, will offer his own thoughts on the show’s theme, including an acknowledgement of the many unique qualities and advantages our city, state and nation offer to home owners. Scott will also provide his regular mortgage tip that can benefit home buyers who are purchasing a property in collaboration with a lender. The Gateway Mortgage Group is one of the largest privately held mortgage companies in the country, doing its entire mortgage servicing in-house. This business element is important, since it means that Gateway’s customers work directly with them until the time their loan is paid.
Santa Fe Vacation Rentals, LLC, Update: Donna Jones White, Owner and Qualifying Broker of Santa Fe Vacation Rentals, LLC, will reflect on the show theme and how the assets of our city make it one of the nation’s most favorite destinations for visitors. Donna’s company maintains a collection of rental options for guests who choose to come to Santa Fe and are seeking a vacation, furnished 30-day, or long-term unfurnished property. Consumers from around the globe turn to Donna’s company to aid them in finding comfortable and high-quality residences for their stays in our community.
The Club At Las Campanas Update: Tom Egelhoff, Director of Agronomy at The Club at Las Campanas, will speak to the show theme underscoring how The Club contributes to offering an extraordinary setting to enjoy an ideal life in Santa Fe. As one of the nation’s most regarded country club destinations, The Club was not only recognized as a Platinum Club of America for 2014-2016, it is also known for its deep commitment to the people, environment, as well as programs that help to make Santa Fe a better community. Tom will also offer information on The Club's efforts to be on the forefront of water conservation efforts in the golfing world, which contributed to the facility being awarded Audubon Certification in 2016. Tom will also provide an overview of the amenities at The Club, including two championship Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Courses; a well-equipped fitness center; tennis and spa facility with seven synthetic clay courts; one of the finest equestrian facilities in the Southwest; as well as the casual and fine dining provided at The Club’s Hacienda Clubhouse. In addition, Rey and Tom will discuss how the Club is known in the community as a place for multifaceted cultural, educational, artistic and musical programs. In addition, The Club’s members formed the Las Campanas Community Fund in 2003 to do even more to address the vital needs in the region. This endowment fund, which is administered in partnership with the Santa Fe Community Foundation, has grown significantly since inception and provides annual grants to a range of non-profit organizations in the Santa Fe area. For the seventh year in a row, “All Things Real Estate” is partnering with The Club to offer information on the multitude of activities it is hosting in 2017. Among the major events The Club hosted this year—for the first time in its history—was the 2017 U.S. Women’s State Team Golf Championship, staged in September. Rey and Tom will review the significance of The Club hosting this major national golf championship.
Open House of the Week: Rey will review the attributes of 1847 Sun Mountain Drive with his Sotheby’s International Realty broker colleague Darlene Streit. This four-bedroom home, located on an acre of land in the highly desirable Sun Mountain Estates neighborhood, offers numerous features and a beautiful setting in the eastern foothills. With short, easy trips to the Santa Fe Plaza, Canyon Road and Museum Hill, this impressive home sits amongst some of the city’s best-know attractions.

In the second hour of the show, join the Reside Home team of Jeff Fenton and Chris Martinez who will host their monthly interior design program. This month, Jeff and Chris will air a program that speaks to the timely theme of “Home for the Holidays!” Reside Home is a design-based, boutique home furnishings showroom in Santa Fe, offering a unique mix of national brands, paired with one-of-a-kind pieces, all displayed to inspire. The firm is also proud to offer a private label upholstery collection, Reside Loft. From furniture to rugs, lighting, pillows, art, accessories, and bedding, Reside Home has what it takes to make your home beautiful.
