All Things Real Estate: Second Hour - August 5, 2018
This weekly radio show features host and Sotheby's International Realty's Associate Broker Rey Post (NM REC License #45660) and a variety of special guests offering the best news, information and commentary regarding every aspect of today's real estate market.
In the first hour of the show, join Rey, his co-host—John Grisak, President of Fix My Roof, LLC—and their guests for a discussion of how a special event that occurred 134 years ago this Sunday, can shed some light on an element of the work of real estate professionals.
On August 5, 1884, the cornerstone for the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty was set in position. In all, it took nearly 10 years to build and then erect this famous monument on Bedloe's Island in New York Harbor (now known as "Liberty Island"), requiring literally thousands of people to achieve this goal.
In the spirit of this historic occasion—and as the theme for the show—Rey and his guests will speak to the reality that: "It takes scores of people to bring their professional expertise to the task of helping consumers achieve the American Dream of home ownership."
Real Estate Brokers Help Achieve the American Dream: Rey will offer some thoughts on how real estate professionals work together to help property buyers achieve home ownership. Rey will also speak to how real estate brokers and other professionals aid home owners in enjoying their property asset. Rey will also offer his weekly “Rey’s Real Estate Recommendation,” which is designed to make the home buying and selling process a bit easier and more enjoyable for consumers. In addition, Rey will remind the audience that the Sotheby's International Realty® brand has partnered with New Story, a non-profit organization that puts 100 percent of donations toward transforming dangerous living environments into communities of safe, sustainable homes, for $6,000 a home. Go to https://www.sothebysrealty.com/eng/newstory for more information on this significant initiative.
2018 Roofing and Home Maintenance Update: John Grisak, President of Fix My Roof, LLC, will offer some observations on the program’s theme, by speaking to the importance of teamwork in achieving sound home ownership. John will also review the cutting-edge procedures and products that his company uses in residential and commercial roof restoration, as well as why now is the time to give special attention to the condition of your home’s roof, as we move from summer to fall. Fix My Roof, LLC, is committed to restoring existing roofs for a fraction of the cost of roof replacement while maximizing a positive impact on the environment by embracing environmentally responsible practices and educating the greater community about environmental stewardship. Headquartered in Santa Fe, the company has completed both residential and commercial jobs in Santa Fe, Los Alamos, El Dorado, Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Cochiti, Las Cruces, Alamogordo, Silver City, and many more locations.
Stephen’s, A Consignment Gallery Update: Stephen Etre, Owner of Stephen’s, A Consignment Gallery, will address the show theme by speaking to the important role that his team of professionals bring to the gallery’s goal of maintaining happy home owner clients. As part of this concept, Stephen will also review why the gallery is always seeking new inventory to satisfy the needs of his customers. With more than 13,000 square feet of display space, the gallery has been a place that home buyers, sellers and owners—along with real estate professionals—have gone to for more than 36 years to find unique art, antiques, jewelry, furniture, and home accessories. Stephen’s gallery is also known for offering premier estate sale services and has—for many years—been called upon by real estate professionals, lawyers and personal financial advisors to administer a number of well-known estate sale events in Santa Fe and other parts of northern New Mexico.
Rey’s “Real Estate Recommendation”: In association with the show’s theme, Rey’s weekly real estate recommendation offers some specific thoughts on how real estate brokers inform home buyers and sellers about the unique talents that they bring to the real estate process.
Open House of the Week: Rey will review the attributes of 49 Dayflower, with his Sotheby’s International Realty broker colleague Tim Galvin. This magnificent three-bedroom residence offers Sangre de Cristo and Jemez mountain views, a lush landscaped courtyard, numerous high-end finishes and a great floor plan, and is located in the neighborhood of Las Campanas, just a short drive to downtown Santa Fe.
In the second hour of the show, Jeff Brown, Owner of WIN Home Inspection, and his guests will offer their monthly broadcast, speaking to a variety of home inspection and maintenance issues, as well as the state of the local real estate market. Bringing his “American Dream” theme from the first hour of the show, Sotheby’s International Realty Associate Broker Rey Post—recognizing the importance of team work—will discuss how he refers his clients to Jeff’s company to achieve both seller pre-listing and buyer contract contingency home inspection activities. Joining Jeff for a discussion of summer home maintenance issues is professional home inspector and a member of the WIN Home Inspection team, Matt Rivera. Offering the monthly WIN Home Inspection “Home Inspector’s Tip” is Victoria Gonzalez, a professional home inspector and also a member of the WIN team. WIN is well known for providing comprehensive, experienced, and professional home inspections, with the goal of helping to make the real estate transaction process go smoothly. Buyers can make an informed decision on the home they are purchasing, as well as planning for upgrades down the road, while sellers who obtain a pre-inspection can often see their listing sell more quickly.
***As a reminder: Please join Rey and his guests next Sunday for the 2018 edition of the “Haciendas, A Parade of Homes” tour, sponsored by the Santa Fe Area Home Builders Association (SFAHBA). This nationally recognized event features some of the finest new construction and totally remodeled homes in our region.
