This weekly radio show features host and Sotheby's International Realty's Associate Broker Rey Post (NM REC License #45660) and a variety of special guests offering the best news, information and commentary regarding every aspect of today's real estate market.
In the first hour of the show, join Rey and his guest co-host and broker colleague, Gregg Antonsen, Qualifying Broker and Senior Vice President of the Santa Fe operation of Sotheby’s International Realty. This Sunday, the “All Things Real Estate” radio show marks the start of moving towards its 10th year of airing. As a way to underscore this occasion, Rey, Gregg and their guests will be discussing a fundamental element of real estate: "Why owning a home matters."
This Sunday also marks the 196th anniversary of the birth of John Jacob Astor, III, whose principal business interest was managing the Astor Estate's vast real estate holdings in NYC. To reinforce this week’s show theme, it is observed that though very few of us can match the value of these historic real estate holdings—-like Mr. Astor—everyone's dream of owning a home is no less powerful and important than was his.

Real Estate Brokers Advise Clients on Owning a Home: Rey will share some observations on the ways that professional real estate brokers are known and respected for their ability to translate the multiple elements of home buying and selling for their clients. Rey will also offer his weekly “Rey’s Real Estate Recommendation,” which provides a tip to consumers with the goal of helping to make the real estate process more appealing and less challenging. In addition, Rey will remind the audience that the Sotheby's International Realty® brand has partnered with New Story, a non-profit organization that puts 100 percent of donations toward transforming dangerous living environments into communities of safe, sustainable homes, for $6,000 a home. Go to for more information on this significant initiative.
Sotheby’s International Realty in Santa Fe: Gregg Antonsen, who has been the Senior Vice President and Qualifying Broker at Sotheby’s International Realty Santa Fe (SIR) since 2011, will bring his more than 30 years of real estate experience to the show’s conversation. As manager of the three offices, associate brokers and staff that comprise SIR’s presence in Santa Fe, Gregg fully understands the important role that home buying and selling plays in our city’s economy. As such, Gregg will be able to offer expert and thoughtful commentary on the theme of the Sunday show.
Stephen’s, A Consignment Gallery Update: Stephen Etre, Owner of Stephen’s, A Consignment Gallery, will address the show theme by speaking to the important role that estate sales play in the process of moving home ownership from one consumer to another. Stephen’s gallery is known for offering premier estate sale services and has—for many years—been called upon by real estate professionals, lawyers and personal financial advisors to administer a number of well-known estate sale events in Santa Fe. With more than 13,000 square feet of display space, the gallery has been a place that home buyers, sellers and owners—along with real estate professionals—have gone to for more than 36 years to find unique art, antiques, jewelry, furniture, and home accessories.
Open House of the Week: Rey will review the attributes of 246 Camino Tres Arroyos with his Sotheby’s International Realty broker colleague Darlene Streit. This three-bedroom, Pueblo-style home sits on more than an acre of land and features a Loretto-inspired spiral staircase to its second-floor bedroom and rich cabinetry throughout. The home has sparkling light in every room through windows that offer an expansive view of the Sangre de Cristo, Jemez, and Sandia mountains. The home is just a short distance from Santa Fe's Plaza.

In the second hour of the show, join Rey and his special in-studio guest co-host Kim Shanahan, Executive Officer of the Santa Fe Area Home Builders Association (SFAHBA), as they speak to the home ownership theme from the first hour of the show. Kim will also address a variety of timely home building and remodeling issues, including his take on the state of the construction industry at this point in 2018.
As a way of applying context to the theme of the show, Rey and Kim will also preview the staging of the SFAHBA’s 2018 “Haciendas, A Parade of Homes” tour in mid-August. This nationally recognized event features some of the finest new construction and totally remodeled homes in our region and serves as one of the best tools for underscoring the theme of why owning a home matters. Rey and Kim will review how properties featured in the event are judged in this home building competition; offer some general commentary on the homes that are entrants in the competition; discuss the builders who are participating in this year’s event; and, how the public can join in a tour of the homes on August 10-12 and 17-19.
