All Things Real Estate: Second Hour - May 3, 2020All Things Real Estate
In the second hour of the show, join Rey as he co-hosts the program with Marcie Demmy Bidwell, Executive Director of the Mountain Studies Institute (MSI), and her colleague, Aaron Kimple, Forest Health Program Director for the organization. MSI, an independent 501 (c) 3 not-for-profit center of knowledge, was established in 2002 in Silverton, Colorado. The organization has a mission of empowering communities, managers, and scientists to innovate solutions through mountain research, education, and practice. A sustaining premise of MSI is that collaborations among researchers, educators and policy makers---with an interest in the San Juan Mountains and other mountain systems worldwide---can provide increased knowledge and understanding of mountain environments and communities, and the issues that affect them. Among other things, Rey, Marcie and Aaron will discuss how coronavirus is impacting MSI's operations, as well as how the organization is adapting to the health crisis, in its efforts to still offer a range of programs to benefit the public. Besides serving as MSI’s Executive Director, Marcie is a landscape ecologist for the organization. She has a Master of Landscape Architecture degree from University of Washington with a specialty in learning landscapes and community restoration. She has more than eight years of experience in water-based environmental education and community outreach, and nine years of experience in project management and environmental monitoring, including science-based environmental planning. Aaron is a project manager for MSI, facilitating partnership development and promoting community involvement. He manages MSI watershed projects, forest health initiatives, and facilitates community stakeholder groups. He has more than 10 years of experience in project management, nearly 20 years of experience with landscape ecology and environmental monitoring, and five years of experience in public facilitation and community outreach.
