This weekly radio show features host and Sotheby's International Realty's Associate Broker Rey Post (NM REC License #45660) and a variety of special guests offering the best news, information and commentary regarding every aspect of today's real estate market.
In the first hour of the show, join Rey and guest co-host Scott Robinson—Branch Manager of theGateway Mortgage Group—as they mark a special anniversary and how it applies to the practice of real estate.
On October 21, 1879, Thomas Edison crowns 14 months of testing with the invention of an incandescent electric light bulb that lasts 13½ hours. In the spirit of this special historic event occurring 139 years ago this Sunday, Rey and his guests will discuss how real estate and business professionals "bring light" to the transactions of their buyer, seller, owner and renter clients.

Real Estate Brokers “Bring Light” to Buyer/Seller Transactions: Rey will offer some thoughts on how real estate professionals bring their expertise to illuminate all of the elements of home buying and selling for their clients. Rey will also offer his weekly “Rey’s Real Estate Recommendation,” which is designed to make the home buying and selling process a bit easier and more enjoyable for consumers.
Gateway Mortgage Group “Home Buyer Tip”: Besides offering his thoughts on the theme of Sunday’s show—including how the mortgage specialists of his company help to shine light on the lender process—Scott will provide his monthly mortgage tip that can benefit home buyers who are purchasing a property in collaboration with a lender. The Gateway Mortgage Group is one of the largest privately held mortgage companies in the country, doing its entire mortgage servicing in-house. This business element is important, since it means that Gateway’s customers work directly with them until the time their loan is paid. Commentary contained within this broadcast is for informational purposes only and should not be considered a solicitation to extend credit. Scott Robinson, NMLS 202265, is a licensed Branch Manager with Gateway Mortgage Group, located at 502 West Cordova Road, Suite 1, Santa Fe, New Mexico 87505. Stephen’s, A Consignment Gallery Update: Stephen Etre, Owner of Stephen’s, A Consignment Gallery, will address the show theme by outlining all of the ways that he and his team “brightly illustrate” what the gallery can offer to meet the home accessorizing needs of consumers. To further illustrate the show theme, Stephen will be calling from the floor of his gallery as he hosts the company’s annual “Fall Sale.” This famous event is very popular with home buyers, sellers and owners, many of whom travel from all over the country to take advantage of what the gallery offers. With more than 13,000 square feet of display space, the gallery has been a place that consumers—along with real estate professionals—have gone to for more than 36 years to find unique art, antiques, jewelry, furniture and home accessories. Besides talking about all the elements of the event, Stephen and Rey will interview one of the gallery’s clients who is attending the sale. The public is invited to attend the gallery’s sale event on both Saturday and Sunday; for more information go to
Santa Fe Vacation Rentals, LLC, Update: Donna Jones White, Owner and Qualifying Broker of Santa Fe Vacation Rentals, LLC, will not only reflect on the show theme—as well as how Santa Fe itself “shines brightly” for its residents and visitors—but will also underscore how important it is to offer information to her clients about the values of Santa Fe as a destination for work or vacation travel. Donna will also remind the audience about her company’s role in maintaining a collection of rental options for vacation guests who choose to come to Santa Fe this year, or are seeking a furnished 30-day or long-term unfurnished property. Consumers from around the globe turn to Donna’s company to aid them in finding comfortable and high-quality residences for their stays in our community.
Rey’s “Real Estate Recommendation”: As has been the case for the past three weeks, Rey’s weekly real estate recommendation offers some specific thoughts on the importance of voting during this year’s mid-term elections. Early as well as absentee voting are options to pursue for New Mexican residents who are registered to vote. In addition, there is always the choice of voting on election day, Tuesday, November 6. Participating in the electoral process is the most direct way for home owners to have influence on who serves in local, state and Federal government positions.
Open House of the Week: Rey will review the attributes of 650 La Viveza Court, with his Sotheby’s International Realty broker colleague Darlene Streit. This spacious three-bedroom home of about 2,500 square feet offers wonderful attention to architectural detail including southwestern motifs carried through in partitions, bancos, ceilings, and a dramatic kiva fireplace in the great room. Located in the neighborhood of Estancia Primera off of Hyde Park Road, the well-appointed home offers an easy drive to downtown Santa Fe, plenty of natural light through large windows and glass doors, as well as numerous features including tile and carpeted floors, radiant in-floor and baseboard electric heat, a two-car garage, and a fenced backyard, attractively landscaped, with a drip irrigation system.

In the second hour of the show, join Rey and his guests as they continue to discuss the theme from the first hour of the show. Joining Rey for her first guest commentator role on “All Things Real Estate,” is Ashley Strauss-Martin, General Counsel for the New Mexico Association of Realtors® (NMAR). Formally recognized as RANM, the association recently changed its name to NMAR. Among many other tasks as General Counsel, Ashley writes or reviews all NMAR Forms (NMAR promulgates the real estate forms used in most residential and commercial transactions throughout the state); runs the NMAR Legal Hot Line, providing legal information for NMAR's 6500+ members; and, serves as an expert witness before the New Mexico state legislature on bills she has drafted. On Sunday, Rey and Ashley will discuss a variety of issues, including new residential real estate form changes that impact the buying and selling of property; legal issues that are of current interest to real estate professionals and consumers; new proposed regulations being considered by the New Mexico Real Estate Commission; and, the 2019 legislative agenda of NMAR. During the second hour of the show, Rey will also feature a second interview with Stephen Etre, Owner of Stephen’s, A Consignment Gallery, as he and his team of professionals host the gallery’s annual “Fall Sale.”
