“My art now swings from hand blown glass ornaments, and mahjong necklaces to Visa cards somewhere between fine to fun art in collections and galleries internationally. And sticks like an ice box magnet with a smile” says American Artist Jennie Cooley during a recent interview in her Santa Fe studio. The prestigious Santa Fean magazine compares her work to that of Pop icon Jenny Holzer. But Cooley feels her content is better stuck somewhere between Henry Darger and Gary Trudeau with some Frida Kahlo and a few misspelled words.

The colorful Santa Fe artist is known as printmaker, painter, and doll maker. After studying sculpture in California and printmaking in New Mexico and Italy, her early achievements included contracts with high-end retailers, manufacturers, TV projects and the Art world.

As a visual narrative artist, Cooley has been shown in numerous galleries, collected internationally and featured in magazines, newspapers and online for her pithy content and reckless style with words and color. The prolific artist now takes her award winning art from her Canyon Rd. Gallery in Santa Fe New Mexico to shows in New York, Miami, and Las Vegas focusing on her next series and her signature lines.

With too much coffee mornings, and a dog that still hates it when she swears, Cooley works from her desert studio in Santa Fe, New Mexico or overlooking the salmon-and-submarine filled waters of Hood Canal in Washington State.
