Marilyn Perryman  Habitat for Humanity

The mission of Santa Fe Habitat for Humanity is to promote affordable home ownership for Santa Fe area residents by constructing simple, adequate, and energy efficient new homes and repairing or rehabilitating existing homes through the cooperative efforts of volunteers, donors, charitable foundations, local businesses, service clubs, church groups, and our partner families that deserve the recognition of serving our community for 30 years. To date Santa Fe Habitat has built 111 homes and this year our goal is to go from building 6 homes to 8 homes for low-income families.

There are three components of Santa Fe Habitat's overall services: building homes for and with low-income Santa Fe County residents; assisting low-income homeowners with minor and major home repairs (a new program established in 2013) and to date have serve 86 homeowners; and operating the Habitat ReStore that is a successful revenue source that provides funding for the operational costs of our programs and services. The ReStore is committed to recycling and re-using building materials and operates a Tool Lending Library that all members of our community may utilize for their home and business projects.
