Travel + Leisure‘s 2022 list of the 15 Best Cities in the United States named Santa Fe, New Mexico, number three! Santa Fe came in after Charleston, South Carolina, and New Orleans, Louisiana, and before places like New York and San Diego. What drew their judges to rank Santa Fe in the top three? They say, “Robust restaurant and art scenes are key reasons visitors of all ages return to this Southwestern city.” The post mentions venues such as the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum and Loretto Chapel, plus suggested Santa Fe Ski Basin as a great place to see sunsets.
Another stellar Santa Fe award came in their The 15 Best Resorts in the Western United States report. At the tip-top of their list is Bishop’s Lodge, Auberge Resorts Collection. Travel + Leisure says about Bishop’s Lodge, “The resort’s 100 newly renovated rooms and suites are the epitome of sophisticated Southwest design, with whitewashed kiva fireplaces, black-and-white desert photographs on the walls, and plenty of patterned textiles and other pieces from Native artisans.” Read our Heating It Up story about Bishop’s Lodge’s new chef.
When visitors are planning a trip to Santa Fe, they wonder, “What are the best hotels to make my stay perfect?” Travel + Leisure also created a list of the Five Best Hotels in Santa Fe for 2022. Topping the list is the Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi. They say it “finds the perfect balance between Santa Fe’s varying design styles of Pueblo Revival architectural inspirations and cowboy-era features like exposed beams, leather upholstery, and open fireplaces.”
Rounding out the list of the five best hotels in Santa Fe are the Inn of the Five Graces, La Fonda on the Plaza, Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado, and the Inn and Spa at Loretto.
