Dr. Stephen P. Stampp, cosmetic surgeon, founded Milk and Honey Body Cosmetic Surgery in Las Cruces, New Mexico, in 2021. He completed his medical degree at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston and completed his residency in the fields of general and trauma surgery at Lincoln Medical Center/Weill Cornell in New York City. Dr. Stampp has been a general surgeon in Las Cruces and neighboring cities in New Mexico Since 2017 and the cosmetic surgeon at Milk and Honey Body Cosmetic Surgery since its founding.

While working at other medical facilities, Dr. Stampp encountered healthcare providers who expressed interest in his ability to perform body contouring and other cosmetic surgery procedures. Recognizing a demand for these services in Las Cruces, Dr. Stampp made the decision to establish a local cosmetic surgery practice, allowing patients the convenience of staying in their home city rather than seeking care elsewhere.

A General Surgeon to a Cosmetic Surgeon

Dr. Stampp’s journey from a general surgical background to the specialized world of cosmetic surgery involved completing a fellowship at the International Society of Cosmetogynecology. There, he worked closely with two prominent figures in the field, Drs. Marco Pelosi II and III, with the senior Dr. Pelosi known as a pioneer cosmetic surgeon.

After this comprehensive training, Dr. Stampp took these skills to his New Mexico cosmetic surgery practice.

Dr. Stampp emphasizes the difference between plastic surgery, characterized by a comprehensive reconstructive training approach, and cosmetic surgery, a more specific field in which the cosmetic surgeon aims to help patients feel more comfortable with their bodies and improving their self-confidence regarding their appearance.

Patient-Centered Philosophy

Possessing both artistic vision and surgical precision, Dr. Stampp’s philosophy centers on “female empowerment through body contouring.” Reflecting on the influence of social media, he observes, “We all see ourselves and compare ourselves to others. That element of social media might be seen as unhealthy, but there’s also an element of those messages that’s truly empowering.”

His practice aims to leverage this empowering aspect, assisting women — and occasionally men — in attaining their desired body images. Beginning with patients seeking reconstructive surgery post-breast cancer, his practice as a cosmetic surgeon has broadened to incorporate various services. Milk and Honey Body Cosmetic Surgery is highly regarded for procedures such as breast augmentations and reconstruction, Brazilian butt lifts, abdominoplasty, and liposculpture.

Access to these centers aligns with his commitment to safety, stating, “Safety comes first, and we consider price points after the safety goals have been met.” Beyond his cosmetic practice, Dr. Stampp manages Organ Peak Surgery, where he conducts general surgery.
