Julia Eringer and young filmmakers from SFUAD Lia Gotz and Summer Matthews

New Mexico Film Works - November 18, 2015

Julia Eringer is an actress and producer, known for Another yesterday (2011), The Cello Player (2015) and Fix Me (2011). Her short film IN HONOR OF made its world premiere and was an Official Selection at the Santa Fe Independent Film Festival this year.
IN HONOR OF is the story of Sarah, who finds herself on trial for her life when an innocent family gathering harbors malicious intent. Seeing no way out, she submits to their devastating patriarchal ritual. Our film is a metaphorical narrative, using the phenomenon of honor killings as a motif to explore the ingrained suppression of women.
