Traditional Spanish Market Artist Show - SantaFe.com

Looking for holiday gifts with a truly Southwestern flair? Art is always in fashion. The Traditional Spanish Market Artist Show returns to Santa Fe over Thanksgiving weekend, and there you will find some of the finest artworks ever produced. One of the most highly anticipated shows of the season, the event will feature the work of 70 adult and youth artists, as well as artist demonstrations, traditional New Mexican music, entertainment, and food for purchase. The Traditional Spanish Market Artist Show takes over the Santa Fe Convention Center, Saturday, November 26 – Sunday, November 27, 2022.

Juried from the Traditional Spanish Market – which takes place in July on the Santa Fe Plaza – participating artists in this show include multiple award-winning artists, including a few who have received the coveted Masters Award. This distinctive show, presented by Innovate+Educate, provides an opportunity to meet the artists and purchase an array of their handmade, museum-quality works in a variety of media — including santos, precious metals jewelry, weaving, ironwork, woodcarvings, straw appliqué, pottery, tinwork, furniture, and more.

Featured artists maintain and continue to carry on the traditional work of Spanish Colonial New Mexico. The weekend will bring tradition, culture, history, artwork, music, and food together in celebration. The participating artists’ works are sought after and widely represented in private and public collections, from permanent collections of museums throughout New Mexico to the Smithsonian Institution and the Vatican.

“Santa Fe is a world-renowned destination for immersion into arts and culture, and our Traditional Spanish Market Artist Show is the perfect place to experience that rich culture, heritage, and of course, one-of-a-kind art,” said Jerry Montoya, santero and Advertising Committee chair. “Whether you’re looking to start your holiday shopping a little early or browse for something for yourself, we invite you to take part in this incredible showcase of traditional Spanish art.”

Dates and times for the event are 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Saturday, November 26, and 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m., Sunday, November 27. The show is free and open to the public. For more information on the Traditional Spanish Market Artist Show, visit the website.
