Zozobra | National Anthem Auditions | SantaFe.com

If you’ve got a voice that can hit all the right notes in our challenging national anthem, the Kiwanis Club of Santa Fe wants to hear it! They are holding virtual auditions for someone to sing at the 97th Annual Burning of Zozobra on September 3, 2021.

And according to Zozobra National Anthem Chair Adan Gallegos, there’s a new twist to the selection of a Zozobra musician for 2021!
“People come to Santa Fe from all over to witness the Burning of Zozobra, so we decided to open our national anthem auditions to the entire country,” Gallegos said. “That way, if someone is coming here from New York to see him burn, they could also have a chance to sing the national anthem to kick off this iconic event,” he added.
To audition, make a video recording of yourself singing The Star Spangled Banner and upload it to YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook or Instagram. Then register on their website at burnzozobra.com/national-anthem to copy and paste your video link into the registration form.
The deadline to submit your video audition is Friday, August 13, 2021, at 11 p.m. MDT. For all the details on auditioning, please visit burnzozobra.com/national-anthem.
